A perfect Georgian sanctuary in South Gloucestershire.

Where time slows and calm returns.

in association with The Little Farming Company & their Therapy Animals.

Tucked away at the top of a slow village lane, this beautifully restored Georgian farmhouse is a sanctuary of calm and character — a place to breathe, rest, and reconnect. Set up a private drive, the house looks out across its own gardens and paddocks, where therapy goats and sheep await your time.

Restorative Experiences with Therapy Animals.
Here, time loosens its hold.
Days are measured by how long you linger with the therapy goats
and guests are invited to share their day.
This is a home for stillness and connection — the kind that lingers long after you’ve left

Guests are invited to book in and meet the Little Farming Company’s trained therapy goats and sheep — affectionate, horn-free, and utterly charming. Time spent with them is quietly transformative, whether you are gently stroking soft coats, sitting in still companionship, or taking part in a guided therapy session with the owner — a qualified Occupational Therapist and animal trainer.

These encounters offer a kind of peace that can’t be rushed; a reminder to breathe, to smile, to simply be with these wonderful animals.

The Cameroon sheep are also a wonderful addition to this farm. They have a quiet stillness to them that draws you in and will unwind you. Sit with them and they will stay close to you for hugs and attention.

We do not feed any of our animals by hand– they only come for attention and love.

We politely ask that guests never feed our animals with anything.

  • Spending time with animals has been proven to enhance your  emotional regulation: Animal companionship provides a non-judgmental emotional outlet, which can improve coping mechanisms and resilience.

  • During the last decade it has become more widely accepted that pet ownership and animal assistance in therapy may have a multitude of positive effects on individuals. There are hundreds, if not thousands of published papers written about animals in therapeutic settings and how they create positive outcomes whenever they are present.  Animal-assisted interventions have shown efficacy as adjunct therapies for conditions such as depression, PTSD, anxiety disorders, and autism spectrum disorder.

  • These animals bring a huge amount of joy and general relaxation to all those that choose to spend time with them.

  • Encourages empathy and prosocial behaviors. Structured animal interactions foster emotional intelligence and responsible care giving behaviors.

  • While goats may initially seem like an unconventional choice for therapy animals, they boast numerous qualities that make them ideal for this role. Goats are social animals that display distinct personalities, mirroring the diversity of humans they interact with. Their affable nature and their ability to engage in playful behavior can lift people’s spirits, providing relief from mental stress and low mood. They can also just create a diversion when a day is not quite going to plan. Many people have a fear of dogs but we are yet to find someone with a fear of a tiny gentle goat with no horns.

  • Goats also bond quickly and enjoy the company of humans.

  • Promotes psychosocial well-being in older adults: Interaction with therapy animals can decrease loneliness, stimulate memory recall, and increase engagement in daily activities.

Downstairs

The kitchen, anchored by 400-year-old flagstones, is full of character – including shelves that once held the cheese that was made in the dairy 100 years ago.

French doors lead out to the private, walled & sheltered courtyard.

Off the kitchen, a snug with log burner and generous sofa makes a perfect hideaway for settling down with a nightcap down to watch a movie in front of the roaring fire.

The beautiful historic panelled living room, also with a log burner, invites togetherness and lazy Sundays reading the papers or one of the many books. While a study/games room offers bean bags, PS4, and a quiet desk for working remotely.

In the vaulted cellar a basic gym with yoga mats, some free weights, and a rowing machine ensures balance is easily kept.

Outside

Beyond the kitchen doors, the sheltered courtyard opens onto a world of calm. The cedar Wilderness tub for two people is temperature-controlled for steamy winter soaks or invigorating cold plunges and sits beneath open skies with views over lawns and the grazing therapy goats. (NB - this Wilderness Tub will be available from February 2026) A BBQ waits for leisurely lunches, and as evening falls, the garden becomes a stage for ethereal hooting owls, dark skies full of stars, and happy conversation.

Up behind the garden is a larger lawn with a spring-free trampoline, table tennis, and solid wooden post football goal for practising that winning kick. While the surrounding fields call for slow exploration. Woodpeckers & kestrels are some of the many bird species that frequent the gardens along with squirrels, hedgehogs and deer.
